SHREVEP0RT TURF NOTES $ Jockey Al Gaither received word to re- port to Bruce Mclntyre at the Fair Groundg in New Orleans, for whom he will ride. Jesse Brin, owner of the Blue Ribbon Stock Farm, of Dallas, was present for the final days sport and purchased the eighty year-old mare, Rizla, from G. C. Fisher, Sr. The terms were private, and the racer will be turned over to Frank Kurinec at New Orleans. The veteran rider, M. Terry, plans to motor to Miami, Fla., where he will affiliate with one of the stables there. H. Carlock reported the sale of Dunwin to Ward and Mitchell, and the horse performed in the interest of his new owners Saturday afternoon. Otto Torrell departed for Miami by motor. He will remain throughout the Tropical Park and Hialeah Park meetings. Al Lavin, Eric Blind, Bob McHugh and Martin Penter, who served on the ground crew here, will report to starter John Mor-rissey at the Fair Grounds, Monday, to assist in the schooling at that point. Starter Tom Brown, who has been confined to the hospital for a week with an infected hand, was reported improved and upon his discharge will go to Hot Springs for a brief vacation. Racing secretary Emmett A. Hileman will motor to Miami to rest prior to fulfilling his duties of paddock judge at Hialeah Park. Ernest Wheatley took over Chronology to train for his future engagements.
