I BOWIE TURF NOTES s $ Frank Stevens of the H. M. Stevens Catering Company is en route to Havana to look over the concessions at Oriental Park. On his journey to the island he will stop off at Hialeah Park and Tropical Park for an inspection of the units at those tracks. At the conclusion of the Maryland racing season at Bowie Noyember 30, the horses of W. Li. Brann will be transferred to Bennings near Washington, D. C, to be turned out for the winter months. Challedon, star youngster of the stable, will be in the shipment and will be prepared for the Kentucky Derby and other valuable three-year-old stakes of 1939. Jockey C. Eye was an arrival from New England to augment the local riding colony that is one of the largest concentrated here in recent years. Jockey Charles Kurtsinger, a recent arrival from Narragansett Park, will accept mounts here for the balance of the meeting. Charles Raynor has leased the services on jockey Albert Schmidl from the Parkwood Stable, and will take the youngster to Florida to ride at Tropical and Hialeah Park. Jockey E. DeCamillis will be seen in silks for the balance of the season in Maryland. The lad arrived from New England, where" he rode with good success. Jockey Beverly Hacker, who was suspended on the closing day of the Maryland Jockey Club meeting at Pimlico for .crossing his field sharply with Celtic Legend, departed for New Orleans to await the opening of the season in Louisiana.
