; j I j j j I ; I PROSPECTIVE JUVENILE STARS Names Awarded for Eleven C. C. Van Meter Yearlings Now in Training at Keeneland. LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 21 C. C. Van Meter has been awarded names as follows for the eleven coming two-year-olds which he has in training at Keeneland: Balover, ch. g, by Balko Pushover. Copin, It. b. c, by Mate Miss Dora. Hadith, b. g, by Hadagal Princess Edith. Hasagne, ch. f, by Haste La Montagne. Sundoary, b. g, by Sunpatic Herodot Friary. Swift Singer, br. f, by Haste Song Bird. Valeo, b. f, by Pompey Fair Stella. Vinum, b. c, by St. James Bright Wine. Vindicare, b. g, by St. Jamesr-The Vengeance. Vivat, b. f, by Pairbypair Firade. Votum, b. c, by Gallant Sir or Hi-Jack Never Again. The names Balover, Hadith, Hasagne and Sundoary are obtained out of the combination of their sires and dams. Copin is French, meaning chum. Valeo is Latin for strong. Vinum, Latin, means wine. Vindicare is Latin, meaning to avenge. Vivat means to live long. Votum is Latin for vow. These youngsters have been tried highly and Van Meter has elected Swift Singer to carry his colors at Hialeah Park because she is very precocious. On November 17 she worked a quarter over the Keeneland track here, held, in :23. Van Meter has arranged with Jesse Spencer to take her, along with his own four, to Hialeah Park when he leaves in the next few days. The other ten will remain at Keeneland to be developed, with a view to their sale early in the spring. It may be that Van Meter will race some of them at the Keeneland meeting in April, but it is his new policy to develop and sell horses without leaving Keeneland. He does not intend to go away and race any more. According to work watchers at Keeneland, there isnt one in the string but which can run fast, and there are several real high class prospects among them. Valeo is said to be one of the best fillies in training at the track, while Copin, Hadith and Vinum are very worthy horses. Votum is also con-! sidered extra good. Balover is a tough little fellow, which gives promise of winning early, Vivat is also considered very fast and promising.
