j EX-CHIEF OF DETECTIVES DIES Former Chief of Detectives William H. Shoemaker dropped dead today at his home at 6237 N. Oak Park Avenue. He was fam-I bus the country over among detectives for J his dogged work. He was known as "Shoes." In 1936 Shoemaker was retired under the compulsory age law.
