, W. E. BOEING SILKS TO FORE Parscout Carries Them to Victory in Yerba Buena Handicap at Tanforan Saturday. SAN BRUNO, Calif., Nov. 21 The red and white silks of W. E. Boeing were carried to victory in the Yerba Buena Handicap, featured race at Tanforan Saturday afternoon when the four-year-old filly Parscout came from the rear to score in a handy manner. Her margin of victory was slightly over one length with Sweepalot, the favorite, and high weight, being second and Advocator the sec- ond choice finishing third. The distance was one and one-sixteenth miles and Parscout, which was ridden by jockey F. Scheih, paid j 8.20. Parscout, which acted badly at the post did. not loom as a contender until half the distance had been raced. She was off badly in a rjoor start and had but Wild Turkey beaten when the half way mark was reached. She then came very fast on the outside to pick up Count Atlas and Gallaclay the early pacemakers on the stretch turn and opening up a good lead was not all out at the finish although Scheih struck her with his whip a couple of times to make victory sure. Sweepalot, the odds-on choice was a disappointment. He was reserved back of the leaders down the back stretch and was in a tight spot when Advocator moved up on the outside. Sweepalot went to the middle of the track inthe stretch and made a valiant effort in the last furlong. Despite his heavy impost of 117 pounds he was gaining on the winner. Advocator had no excuses and tired in the stretch. Count Atlas and Gallaclay quit in the stretch and Wild Turkey, which had been off slowly, made up ground. The Yerba Buena Handicap was worth ,955 to the winner and the time for the mile and one-sixteenth was 1:44, a full second slower than Special Agents track record.
