STATISTICS FOR EMPIRE CITY Mrs. Bessie Franzheims Stable Tops the Money Winners. Warren Yarberry Pilots Most Winners, but Westrope Has Higher Average Great Union Leads Equine Performers. Mrs. Bessie Franzheim won the largest slice of the 05,870 which Empire City distributed among horsemen during its twelve-day meeting from October 17 to October 29. The Franzheim total was ,530 earned through four victories and two seconds. Empire City gave an average daily distribution of ,822.50 and 32 per cent of the publics choices made good their selection as favorites. Great Union and Xalapa Clown were the biggest money winners with the former winning ,550 and Xalapa Clown ,000. Great Union won the Yorktown Handicap and Xalapa Clown the Ardsley Handicap. Warren Yarberry continued to justify the high praise accorded him by Eastern racegoers by leading the Yonkers riding brigade with eleven winners. However, Jackie Westrope showed what experience counts for by finishing with a percentage of .25, although fourth on the list.
