GUIANA WELCOMES JEWS GEORGETOWN, British Guiana, Nov. 21. Newspapers here expressed themselves favorably regarding the settlement of Jewish refugees in this country, provided something substantial also is done for native settlers in the farming district. The legislative council and the governor have been advised by public leaders that only agriculturists are desired. It was questioned whether a Jewish colony would be set up as part of the Guiana colony itself. It was reported that the coastal lands as at present will be under colonial administration, with the hinterland turned over to the Jews and administered directly by the Imperial government.
