l-t TAN FOR AN TURF NOTES ? 5 S Much interest is being evidenced among - horsemen over the two coming important ""races at Tanforan this week, namely the Thanksgiving Day Handicap and the Lassie Stakes. Blue Breeze, the probable favorite for the Lassie, had a nice workout Tuesday morning when she went five-eighths hard held. The distance of the Lassie is six furlongs, s Among those slated to perform in the Thanksgiving Day Handicap are Gallaclay, Count Atlas, Parscout, Masker, Pageboy, Onus, Noble Count, Golden Ej;a, Routine, Townsman, Xenomay and others of like caliber. A grade "D" handicap, which brings out a good field at six furlongs, will be Tanforans feature for Wednesday. Euripides, the western Canadian handicap star which performed so sensationally first time out, will be numbered among the starters. Jockey George Woolf believes that the eastern division of the C. S. Howard string, headed by the champion Seabiscuit, will be at Tanforan before the conclusion of the meeting. Woolf stated that talk of Sea-biscuit and the others being shipped to Florida came about because of rumors of rich special races to be held in the Everglades land, but now that nothing is definite regarding such contests, he is of the opinion that owner Howard will ship Sea-biscuit and his stable companions "out home."
