I The latter was prominent from the beginning, challenged strongly when making his run and held on with good energy to the finish. BUDS KING was a forward factor and continued gamely. GEODESIAN lacked . early speed, then finished stoutly in the late stages. BOB JUNIOR saved ground, but could not engage the leaders. REPELLER was never a threat. PHONE DIJON had no excuses. COLIN ROI raced in spots. .CROSS BADGE broke slowly and lacked speed. EXERTION quit badly. SAN ANTIOCA, permitted to go along on her own courage until settled into stride, worked her way forward stoutly, drove through on the inside of the leaders on the stretch turn, overhauled DOPLAY and drew out nicely. DOPLAY was rated in front, stalled off repeated efforts from DEVILS MATE, but could not withstand the winner. WATERSPLASH dropped far out of contention, went wide to improve his position and closed with good energy on the extreme outside. PASSING EVE was kept under pressure from the start and came gamely between horses in the closing test. SLATTERN was prominent while racing out in the firmer footing and held on willingly to the end. TONI raced closer to the pace than usual, but failed to stay. AUDLEY GIRL had no excuses. MANILA BAY broke slowly and was never dangerous. DEVILS MATE quit in the last quarter mile. TIBERIUS was ridden stoutly in the early running while racing close to the leaders, drove through on the inside on the stretch turn when making a bold bid, assumed command in the last eighth and drew out gradually. BLACK BUN had good speed while setting the pace and held on gamely while staging a bumping match with WATCH OVER all during the final eighth. WATCH OVER forced a steady pace and held on gamely while meeting with interference. GOLDEN VOYAGE was taken up at the break, was sent up on the outside, reached the leaders and fought it out willingly under punishment. FERDINAND tired in the stretch drive after racing forwardly early. REFRESHMENT could not threaten. ROYAL BIT and LACKAWANNA were outrun. FOURTH RACE 3-4 MILE Out of Chute. GHOST QUEEN weaved her way through tight quarters and fought it out willingly when engaged vyith the leaders. SLOW MOTION, beginning slowly, improved his position on the outside and finished with a bold rush on the outside. TODDLE ON, on the outside early, was steered into the softer footing on the inside in the last five-sixteenths and labored under a hard drive. SIR RALEIGH, unable to untrack himself while forced to race on the inside, was unable to threaten until reaching the stretch. BENJAM could not get clear and tired. C-NOTE showed early speed. The latter was a strong contender throughout, raced in deep footing along the inside rail and held on well while under punishment. LANDLUBBER improved his position when placed to a hard drive and finished courageously. NO ENDING was squeezed back on the turn out of the back stretch and recovered, but was not good enough. BRAXTON raced evenly. ORCHIDS NEXT was never dangerous. MISS CANRON was outrun. BRIERTON ran out on the first turn, was driven vigorously to get to the front and was used up. TRINA, saved off the early pace, .closed gamely in the last, half mile. BROWN MOTH made several bids in the first seven-eighths, then tired. SLUMP lacked speed all the way. CAMARADERIE, shuffled back early, swung to the outside and closed an immense gap. PHARABOO was ridden hard, but could not keep up. SEED was prominent and had no excuses. KAI-MIN was unable to enter contention. CHATTER WRACK was outrun. MON DOIT failed to rally when placed to punishment. LAST CHASE was done early. JOLLY JACK raced poorly.
