BELLZETTA showed good early speed, but tired and was not good enough to resist the winner. GOOLE raced evenly. FORT RYOLA was fairly well up throughout, but did not threaten the first two. BLACK BOMBER was shuffled back at the start and was used up racing into the pack. XENTOR was outrun all the way. KATYA had some early speed. SECOND RACE 1 1-1G MILES. UNION GIRL was close to the pace from the start and, coming gamely on the outside of the early leaders in the stretch., got to the front near the end to win under urging. MIKES LUCK raced to the front early to make the pace and held on well. FELLA was closest to the pace in the early running and had no excuses. BLUE HOUR made up ground when too late. CURIOUS dropped back soon after the start, was in close quarters in the back stretch, was taken up on- the stretch turn and, steered to the outside, had little chance. The, latter came gamely on the inside through the stretch and raced in determined fashion to the end. CALCULATOR made up some ground. VALIANT BOY also finished well. DANFIELD, outrun early, came fast through the stretch and was racing strongly at the end. PALA CHIEF raced wide in the stretch, but finished full of run. SKY GRENADE, although unable to catch the winner, held on fairly well. POMPA was permitted to race wide in the early stages while under restraint and, after making a mild move rounding the stretch turn, tired near the end. CUE BALL tired. Overweight Danfield, 1 pound.
