ISENBERG SHREWD BARGAINER Purchased Two Horses From Charles E. Cooper, Which Proved to Be Consistent Purse Winners. ARCADIA, Calif., Dec. 2. Harry N. Isen-berg, Los Angeles business man, is one of the most enthusiastic thoroughbred horse fanciers in California. He is likewise one of the shrewdest judges of horse value. Charles E. Cooper of Rancho San Luis Roy chuckles when relating how Isenberg persuaded him to part with the brood mare Danube Wave and her six months old suckling colt three years ago for 1,000. The colt was later named Iron Hills and he went on to win the California Breeders Champion Stakes at Santa Anita, earning 0,420 net in that one effort for Isenberg, who races under the nom de course of Iron Mountain Stable. Iron Hills was raised at Rancho San Luis Rey and received his early racing lessons over the seven-eighths mile training track at the San Diego county nursery. The horse has been on a vacation for a few months at the Cooper menage, but is expected to again sport colors at Santa Anita this winter. Another shrewd acquisition by Isenberg occurred when he paid Cooper ,500 for Bon Fly, and within a few weeks won three races with her, more than "paying her out."
