HELEN MAC, forced to race wide all the way, took command with a rush on the outside on the second turn and held her advantage to the end without need of strong pressure. CYNICAL, slow to begin, saved ground throughout and closed courageously, but was no match for the winner. BRILLIANT ONE, slow to begin and outrun for fiveteighths, moved up steadily thereafter. GRAND VILLA, a sharp factor from the beginning, was under light restraint for three-quarters and tired in the drive. ADORESS, never far back and in hand early, was hard ridden after five-eighths, but could not seriously threaten. MARTIN BOY tired after showing good speed for three-quarters. CHARLOTTE G. was outrun. MY GRACIOUS, never far back and under light restraint for three-eighths, was vigorously handled thereafter and finished stoutly. SIR BLACKIE had good speed from the beginning, held on well to the last eighth and tired. CRASHING IDEA, outrun for a half mile, made up some ground in the drive. VERY MUCH tired after showing speed for a half mile. BACK CHAT had no mishaps. DEMANDING ran out all the way. BOSTON SOUND, quick to take command, made the pace under light restraint, was put to good pressure when challenged and outfinished MAEBOB. The latter, a sharp factor from the beginning, was steadied along for a half mile and responded to urging to get to the front inside the final eighth, but could not last. GAME, never far back, was called upon after three-eighths, but could not menace the leaders. BLACK BUDDY, away fast but unable to keep up, saved ground and closed fairly well. TADDY BANE made up some ground in the last quarter. ANCIENT TIMES, well up and able to save ground for a half mile, failed to rally when shaken up. ELLABEE had no mishaps. PENRILL was outrun. OXFORD LAD, cleverly ridden and showing good speed from the start, set the pace under steadying restraint, rallied quickly to vigorous urging when challenged in the final eighth and held CROUT AU POT safe. The latter, unable to keep up in the early stages, saved ground throughout, came between horses on the stretch turn and responded to urging, but could not reach the winner. MINEY, never far out of it, was placed to strong urging in the last quarter, but tired. MANNERLY, on the outside throughout, improved his position slightly after straightening out in the stretch. COLONEL JOE began dropping back after going three-eighths WATERCURE was much used in forcing the early pace, tiring thereafter under hustling tactics. RUNMILTON and GREY DOLL were always outrun. FIRE ADVANCE, in hand for three-quarters, moved up gamely thereafter and might have been second, but for being carried out by LOAFER. STEPINANNA, outrun to the last quarter, passed tiring horses in the drive. BOY VALET tired after five-eighths. NIGHT BUD was through early. HIT AND RUN lacked speed and never threatened. SHINING HEELS, going in her best form and hard hustled throughout, forced a swift pace, swerved repeatedly when hard urged in the final eighth, continued courageously and outstayed JEWELL DORSETT. The latter dropped back soon after the start, came up on the outside arid lost some ground on the stretch turn, responded readily to urging and was slowly getting to the winner in the late stages. ORINOCO lacked early speed, worked his way up on the outside and, closing with a rush, showed a good effort. BACHELOR DINNER began well, was rushed into a slight lead soon after the start, then tired under pressure in the drive. TAKEN raced well up to the final eighth, where he tired in the drive. GOOD MEMORY began slowly, was forced wide on the first turn, then closed a good gap in the stretch. PISH TUSH and HIGH FIRE quit.
