II TROPICAL PARK TURF NOTES 4 . j W. R. Dahlstrom and J. P. Ross, Jr., were appointed to serve as patrol judges with O. E. Pons, in addition to their regular duties. The appointments were made Tuesday morning. Trainer W. E. Collins is preparing four yearlings owned by Sumner Pingree for racing. The youngsters are all by the sire Mackenzie. Louis Meripole, well-known trainer who raced successful strings in California during .the past fc.v seasons, is here for the winter. , J. J. Reynolds, the little plunger from Baltimore, Md., arrived from the Monu-inental City and will remain for the balance of the season. Jockey Claire Critchfield accepted his first lnount of the meeting when he rode Xavier u the fifth race for Wesley Sears Farm. JVJ. Fitzsimmons, trainer of one of the most fashionable stables in the United States, was present for the sport Wednesday at Tropical Park. Jules Wessler has seventeen horses in -training here including Roguish Girl, which turned in one of the fastest mile races of the eastern racing season. The five-year-old xnare by Roguish Eye is owned by B. Deutch and has-been named for oil of the important prizes, on. the Florida racing calendar. 1
