j I FRANCE TO BUY U. S. A. PLANES PARIS, France, Dec. 21. The French Air Ministry today confirmed reports that France is contemplating punhase of 1,050 American planes for 50,000,000. An offi-j cial, of the Air Ministry stated obstacles con-, fronting the purchase are Frances present economic position and the United States export laws. The French government, he said, will not accept the American proposal for the sale, under which the planes would bd distributed to France in June and the debt paid off in the following five years. The planes are listed as 100 Brewster and 150 Curtiss craft, 150 Seversky pursuit planes, i 100 Lockheed bombers, 100 Northrup planes, 250 Vought craft and 100 Vultee attackers. The Air Ministry attache added that American technicians will be hired to improve j French plane production and models.
