CUBS SELL TEX CARLETON The management of the Chicago Cubs announced the sale of Pitcher Tex Carleton and three players. Carleton was sold outright to the Milwaukee club of the American Association in a surprise move. Included, in the Carleton sale was John Bot-terini, rookie catcher. The Cubs also released Pitcher Clay Bertram and Infielder Bobby Mattick to the Brewers on option. Last year Bertram pitched for Moline, a Cub farm in the Three-Eye League, while Mat-tick divided his time between Indianapolis of the American Association and Syracuse of the International League.
