Ten Ten Face Face Whirlaway Whirlaway in in Dixie Dixie Today; Today; War War Benefit Benefit Day Day at at Sportsmans Sportsmans Park Park [Attractive Card To Be Presented Gross Receipts Will Go to Army and Navy Relief Funds And Service Mens Center CICERO, 111., May 5.— War Relief Day will be observed tomorrow afternoon at Sportsmans Park and what promises to be the biggest attraction ever presented at the local half-mile track is expected to draw an attendance of huge proportions. The gross proceeds of the days program will be turned over to the Army Relief Fund, Navy Relief Fund and the Service Mens Center. Racing secretary Pat Galliger has arranged an unusually attractive mid-week program and those who journey to the local oval will view races over both sprint and distance. The feature event of the afternoon, which has been entitled the Relief Fund Purse, an allowance affair for three-year-olds and upwards, over one mile and one-sixteenth for a purse of ,200 value, has six of the best routers in training here scheduled to compete. Cooling Spring, a six-year-old horse from the racing stable of B. M. Smith, a winner of his last start here at this course, rates as the one to go postward as favorte over this, field. This sterling son of Milkman and Afloat won his last start by two lengths over such routers as One Jest and Vegas Justice, two of the same horses he will meet again in this feature. The Smith col-orbearer will carry second top weight of 115 pounds, eight more than he was forced to pack in his winning effort. Cherry Trifle Dangerous The Mrs. L. B. Muschal star distance performer, Cherry Trifle, who just managed to get up to win the Sportsmans Park Handicap by a nose, to defeat Three Clovers and Vinum, in 1:29 Vs over a fast track, looms as the one to prove most dangerous in this event. The son of Questionnaire will be asked to pack top weight of 120 pounds, which makes him pick up 13 from his winning race. After coming from far back the Muschal silk bearer rates as the one to beat because of his ability to close fast in the. last part. Vegas Justice, who races in the interest f Butsey Hernandez, will be a strong contender in the feature, as all his recent races at the half-mile oval have shown marked improvement and, with the ability to go the longer routes, must not be taken lightly. This four-year-old gelding will be in there with the light impost of 107 pounds, just two more than he carried in his last appearance at this track.
