CHERRIKO took command in the first sixteenth by a short marein. increased her advantage going down the back stretch, then came on to win by a wide margin. HIGHSCOPE, slow to settle into stride, closed steadily while saving ground rounding the final turn and finished gamely, but was no match for the winner. MODULATOR raced up between horses entering the final quarter and was going well at the end. although well back of the first two. DEEP ROCK raced evenly and was never a serious threat. JUST BEANS tired after showing a good effort early. The others were alwavs well back. . FIVE FIFTY, having early speed, rushed into the lead in the first few jards, set the pace to the heme stretch, then gave way when the winner challenged and just managed to last to save the place. WAWMOUR raced evenly and was never able to improve his position. ANNA-A-YISH forced the pace to midway of the home stretch, then weakened. SNOWCRYSTAL raced in spots. MISS MILITANT, outrun in the early stages, closed with a rush after reaching the home stretch, and, though racing wide, got up to win narrowly in the closing drive. GOLDEN GOOSE took command soon after the start and set all the pace but was unable to hold the winner. LATENT, far back for a half mile, was taken to the outside rounding the far turn and closed a big gap in the final eighth. JAMES QUEST, a forward factor from the start, raced strongly to the last eighth, then tired. YOUROFF raced in spots and was never a serious factor. OUTBID showed speed for a quarter, then quit. EVIL SPIRIT, a forward factor throughout, made a strong bid for the lead while racing on the inside turning for home but was tiring near the finish. ALDR1DGE could never reach a contending position.
