Catrones Derby Comment BALTIMORE, Md., May 5.— Frank Ca-trone, the Valdina trainer, had this to say about Valdina Orphan, who was barely nosed out for second honors by Alsab in I the Derby: "He ran a crackin race. Had to break from way on the outside, and then lost some ground around the first turn. Everybody was well satisfied with his race. Catrone stated that Carroll Bier-man, who handled the colt, had been engaged to do the stables riding and will be up on the son of Hilltown in the Preak- ness. Emerson F. Woodward, the Texas cattleman, who owns the colt, will be present for the race.
