EPITORY encountered some interference rounding the first turn, was brought to the outside, beean moving up gradually in the last half mile and. overtaking OVER GOLD in the stretch, came out gradually in the last eighth. RICHESTAN moved up in the back stretch and continued with good cnerey to the end. REIGH ME, prominently placed, followed along within striking distance of the pare and held on determinedly in the final drive. OVER GOLD took command at once, withstood early contention from ZALTOWNA. drew clear and, while making a game bid to go along when challenged, tired in the last three-sixteenths. JEST ONCE, slow to begin, came with belated speed through the stretch. ZALTOWNA forced the early pace, began tiring and, suffering sharp interference, dropped back. LA SCALA had speed from the start, drew clear and, rated along in front, was placed to punishment in the stretch and came out aeain under hard ureine. PILOT BOAT, in closest chase of the pace from practically the outset, continued with splendid energy in the final drive. ARGOS, prominent throughout, saved ground into the stretch and held on determinedly to the close. KLEIG LIGHT came wide into the stretch and was unable to threaten the leaders. NOON STEP failed to make up any ground when tailed upon. SAVINGS BANK failed to reach the leaders. The others were never prominent. BOW LOW, quickest to begin and taken under slight restraint when RISSA moved to the front, held to a position on .the outside, responded gamely when straightened in the stretch and, overtaking the pacemaker in the last sixteenth, came out steadily. RISSA showed good speed in pacemaking and held on willingly to the close, but was unable to cope with the closing bid of the winner. DINNER JACKET, slow to begin and a trailer for three-eighths, made up ground steadily thereafter. HARD LOSER, under hustling tactics while chasing the pace, faltered after going a half mile. EIGHT AND SIX moved up on the inside throueh the hack stretch, hut failed to make up any ground in the closing drive. MAYDIG was unable to threaten. JACK FLY was outrun. LADY LIBERTY, quickest to begin, drew away into a good lead and, increasing her advantage through the stretch, won as if outclassing her opposition. NICE ENOUGH, in nearest chase of the winner thioughout, held on well to the end. TWO-TIMER, well placed, was unable to dose, any appreciable amount of ground in the dosing drive. FORSOOTH, avoiding the early pace and permitted to settle into stride without being hurried during the early stages, moved up steadily in the last three-eighths and, catching the pacemaker tiring in the stretch, drew out to win with speed in reserve. QUAROMA, in closest pursuit of the early pace, continued willingly to the end. DAINTY FORD took command at once and, sprinted into a good lead, was taken under slight reserve, then was steadied along in front, but faltered in the last three sixteenths. YANNIE SID, well placed, was unable to make up ground when called upon. CEE JOE, taken back nearing the far turn, was never able to enter into serious contention. MARION COLLINS, steadied along in pursuit of the leaders for the first three furlongs, moved up stoutly when called upon, disposed c f TIME OWAR for the lead and drew out under brisk urging. TIME OWAR displayed speed from the start, withstood early contention from BOREDOM, disposed of him and, while holding on gamely, was unable to cope with the challenge of the winner. GRAUSTARK closed gamely during the last furlong, after being outrun early. VICTORY BOUND was unable to engage the leaders. WANNA HYGRO, unable to enter contention early, made up some ground through the back stretch, began working her way to the leaders in the last sixteenths and, responding gamely to pressure on the outside, wore down CUCKOO to draw out at the end. CUCKOO moved up stoutly nearing the far turn, disposed of DON PECOS for the lead and, while holding on willingly, was unable to cope with the bid of the winner. DON PECOS moved up through the hack stretch, took command when PERIOVER began tiring and, while unable to stave off the first two. held on well to the end. GIGI went well placed, although failing to endanger the leaders. LA TORA. slow to begin and far back early, closed some ground. MOBCAP was unable to reach the leaders. EASTERNER was outrun. MAX FORST raced prominently placed throughout and held on determinedly. CANNIBAL, far back until reaching the last quarter, closed with a rush. WAR BONNET, reserved early, was unable to endanger the leaders when called upon. MOLLIE GAL closed a big gap after trailine early! CROWN GEM quit badly in the stretch run. PARI ERNEST, well placed early, dropped back steadily in the last half mile. ALARMING quit. Scratched— 22840 Inactive, 106; 22676 Temulac, 116.
