Illinois Notes . ARLINGTON at Washington Park, Homewood, 111., June 24. J. W. Martin, leading apprentice of the Lincoln Fields meeting at Hawthorne, resumes riding Tuesday "following ten days on the ground for rough tactics. Deductions from purses won by horses owned by members of the Horsemens Benevolent and Protective Association during the 28-day Lincoln Fields meeting, totaled ,749.25, according to officers of the local division of that association. Mr. and Mrs. William W. Crenshaw, owners of one of the larger stables here, are expected from California and may arrive in time for the Stars and Stripes July 4 program. Steve Brooks arrived from the East, where he has been riding at Long Island tracks and Delaware Park, and joined the jockey colony at Washington Park. Burley Parke, acting for John Marsch, has taken a call on jockey Leon Haas for the Arlington Futurity in which Marsch will be represented by two of his eight eliuibles., The Myrtle Maroon Stable horses have been transferred to Fairmount Park in charge of J. M. Nugent. Jockey William Bailey, who is reported to have purchased the contract which J. O. Hart had on his services, is expected here Sunday and may be seen inN the saddle the following day. Edwin J. Brown, racing official and a former president of the National Association of State Racing Commissioners, closed a two-day visit here and left for Camden, where he will serve in the stand during the coming Garden State meeting. Conference, a two-year-old colt by Diav- olo and Burnt Bread, was purchased by Mrs. Monte Weil from F. P. Letellier. Mrs. Weils husband will train the youngster. The veteran Stinging Bee, now at the Le Mar Stock Farm near Lexington, has been fired and will remain there a month before rejoining the Willard Baker stable here. Elmo N. Shropshire, assistant to Edward L. Snyder, trainer of the William G. Helis stable, arrived Irom New York where he was taken ill as the Helis establishment pulled out of Belmont Park for Washington Park 10 days ago.
