Adams in Limelight With Five Winners Four of Kansans Victories Consecutive; Hi Neighbor Beats Sir Sprite in Guyon DETROIT, Mich., June 24: Johnny Adams and Hi Neighbor shared the spotlight at the Fair Grounds today. The former piloted winners of five races, guiding mounts to victory in the first four and Venci in the seventh, while Hi Neighbor flaunted the colors of the locally-owned Bomar Stable to a cleanciit and surprising triumph in the ,500 Marie Guyon Handicap. This fixture, exclusively for three-year-olds, was at a mile and one-sixteenth and the successful son of Castel Fusano Whisper Low came from off the pace to round out the distance in 1:46 over a fast but "dead" track. At the finish he had two and one-quarter lengths margin over the hard-charging but failing Sir Sprite, representing O. Frank Woodward. Show honors went to Torrance C. Melroses Our Merrick, the disappointing favorite. Incidentally, he had no excuse. He got within striking distance of the pace early, while Passion was showing the way, then gave way only to come again when too late and flattened out in the drive. A gathering of 13,580 attended. Starts Off With Cherry Crush Adams, who has been in a bit of a slump the past few days, showed rivals "how it is done1 in the early part of the afternoon. In fact, it appeared he was on his way to making it a "Johnny Adams Day." Third position went to A. F. Walls Tiger Man, the victim of some crowding at the far turn. But a"t that the Wall juvenile raced clear in sufficient time.
