Great Rush and Baroque Meet Again at Suffolk Among Classsy Field Named for Peabody Purse, Route Feature EAST BOSTON, Mass., June 24. Racing secretary and handicapper Charles J. McLennan has arranged an excellent program for presentation at Suffolk Downs Monday. The Peabody Purse which will be decided at one mile and a sixteenth for four-year-olds and upward and the six furlongs Griffin Wharf Purse for horses of similar age are to serve as the twin features on the card. Both these events drew better than average fields and good sport is in store for patrons at the seaside course as the current meeting goes into its seventh week. The Peabody promises to be one of the better offerings of the New England season and Great Rush, a game winner of the Bunker Hill Handicap here on .June 17, is expected to rule one of the choices. Great Rush will again meet Baroque and the return clash between the pair is attracting considerable attention. Baroque bowed to the Brdokmeade star after a bitterly waged stretch duel in the Bunker Hill and will race coupled with Metcalf and Carrs Goober Lad in the Peabody. Completing the field for the test are such performers as Billy O., First Draft, Dinner Party, Incoming and Loveday. The latter generally regarded as one of the best mares in this sector won three important races at the recent Narragansett session and she lias been training steadily for her local engagement. The Griffin Wharf drew a small but clever band of sprinters, Frilure, Dream Parade, Diego Red, Yes or No and Johnny Jr. The last named gelding gave a fine account of himself hers on June 9 when he won the Cohasset Purse, defeating among others Undulator and First of All. Although many were prone to believe that Johnny Jr.s triumph in the Cohasset was a lucky one, he, nevertheless, completed six furlongs on that occasion in 1:10, a sparkling effort. The initial offering on the program matches a limit field of platers at a mile and a sixteenth; four-year-olds and up go at six furlongs in the second and the third brings together 10 juveniles in a five-furlong dash. Three-year-olds and upward vie for honors in the six-furlong fourth; three-year-olds from class "D" are to contest the six-furlong sixth and the nightcap brings together an even dozen class "E" three-year-olds at a mile and 70 yards.
