CHERRY CRUSH assumed command under own courage, was steadied down the backstretch, went rather wide on the far turn and scored with something left. DETROIT BULL improved his position from along the rail while unable to menace and finished well. BURNING SANDS attempted to threaten early, gave way after three-eighths and was tiring in the drive. SUBDUE, lacking early speed, passed faltering horses. ALUMONT went forward early on the outside. JUNIOR EASTON was through after five-eighths. WAR BONNET was never a serious threat. ALCHANC came forward on the inside, went to the outside for the drive, and assumed command under pressure to outlast THROUGH TRAIN. The latter moved with the winner, was unable to keep i:p, but came fast for the drive. ACKWELL contributed to MISS FLYERS defeat, gave way to the winner, but held on well. MISS FLYER, outsprinted momentarily, was hard urged while moving into the lead from along the rail and fell back under constant pressure. MARSAIAH had no mishaps. Won driving; third the same. CAHORS, well within striking distance from the start, reached DRUMONT from the .outside in the final strides and finished in a head heat with the latter for first place. DRUMONT, hard urged to assume command, showed the way under pressure, saved ground along the rail in the drive, but could not shake off CAHORS. HAVANA LAD was hustled forward with the start, gave way and then raced in spots. AWAY UP made up ground on the inside in the stretch. DOCTOR REDER and RUSTY GOLD had some early speed. VELVET HEELS, hustled into a -quick lead, held off LADY REBECCAS early threat under urging and, responding to rousing, drew clear in the drive. BAR WILLOW came forward well, faltered momentarily rounding the far turn and closed strongly. ST. DISMAS came forward fast along the rail entering the stretch. AGRARIAN-U, also away fast, saved ground arly, contributed to NOT SO GOODS defeat and then could not rceet the winners charge; TIGER MAN, forced to take up when crowded somewhat, came well when clear. REGAL MAID showed a good effort, but "was not good enough. NOT SO GOOD outsprinted the opposition early and gave way under pressure. NINE R. TRAIN had brief speed. HI NEIGHBOR, from between horses rushed to the leaders rounding the far turn, took over from PASSION from the outside without much difficulty in the drive and held off SIR SPRITE. The latter, well placed from the start, gave way when unable to keep up, but came again in the drive and finished resolutely. OUR MERRICK moved to the pace in -the run down the backstretch, gave way and came again approaching the stretch, then flattened out. PASSION showed the way under good urging and was tiring when collared. LIBERTY BON made up some ground late. CHIEF KNOCKER lacked speed and had no excuses. The latter took over rounding the far turn when STELL quit, was always hard urged and gave way doggedly. STUDY PERIOD came, from far back, was unable to get through at the stretch turn and was not equal to going along with the winner. DRAWBY improved his position from the inside, had to be eased out at thr three-eighths post and came well in the drive. STELL and URAGAL quit. SWAIN was hopelessly outrun.
