The latter displaced CAL- CUTTA when ready and held sway under a strong grip, but could not resist the winner. RELIOUS showed an improved race. PLAYFUL PAL appeared unprepared for the break and weakened after moving nearest the leader on the final bend. NITA JEAN showed nothing. CALCUTTA quit badly when unable to draw clear early.
