Likeasnot Entered In Wyoming Purse Super Marines Only One in Detroit Combination Event To Carry Claiming Price FAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 13. — It is a better than average Friday program that racing secretary Charles F. Henry offers here tomorrow. The Wyoming Combination Purse, a six-furlong dash for four-year-olds and upward, is the best of the eight races, and in it there are 11 evenly matched older speedsters, only one of which, R. S. McLaughlins Super - Marines, carries a claiming tag. The son of Quatre Bras II. is entered for ,000. The Palmer Park Combination Purse also is at six furlongs, and those entered to be claimed are in a price range from ,000 to ,000. Three-year-olds are catered to exclusively in the Broadway Purse and novice riders have their opportunity in the third race. In the Wyoming, T. D. Buhls Likeasnot probably will carry the bulk of public support. The son of Sweep Like and brother of Air Sailor has been a fairly consistent winner this year, numbering among his triumphs the Dearborn Handicap over this track. Under the conditions of the race, Likeasnot is asked to shoulder 118 pounds and will have the expert services of jockey Sterling Young. Likeasnot will not be without stern competition, for, among his opponents are several that have given evidence of their present good condition and fondness for this track by recent scores. Donna-Ray Stables Bolo Tie accounted for the Wolverine Purse rather impressively, Super Marines took top honors in the Amhurst Purse: Fort Vancouver won the Sabula Purse for owner B. H. Wise, and Rip Away was twice successful in allowance races for Anthony Graffagnini. Considered on his winning performances in Maryland, Mrs. Roy Car-ruthers Jimmie must be accorded an excellent chance with this caliber of competition. The race shapes up as a wide open affair and the winner could come from any quarter. In the Palmer Park, J. E. F. Seagrams Pat Fuller, Vincent Ciceros Valdina Style, the Grand Stables Valdina Tyrant, and Mrs. Lottie Wolfs Bonalita all appear to be well placed, making for another very open contest. The supporting races are well up to standard.
