Sussex May Bring Out Field of Ten Delaware Park Fans Assured Splendid Race With Stymie And Gallorette in Line-Up DELAWARE PARK, Stanton, Del., June 13. — The line-up for Saturdays ninth running of the 5,000 Sussex Handicap is rapidly taking shape with a sterling field of 10 of the nations first-flight handicap stars expected to start in the one mile and a quarter fixture. According to a survey conducted today by racing secretary Shea among owners and trainers of Sussex eligibles, the following can be counted upon as almost definite starters for the rich week-end feature, Mrs. Ethel Jacobs Stymie, Mrs. P. A. B. Wid-eners Polynesian, Walter M. Jeffords Pavot and Trymenow, Greentree Stables Dock-stader, William L. Branns Gallorette, Glen Riddle Farms War Trophy, Miss Ruth McClenaghans Harford, Gustave Rings Prefect and Bobanet Stables Megogo. All of those mentioned above are presently quartered at Delaware Park and if the lineup remains unchanged, it will be the finest Sussex Handicap field since the coveted fixture was inaugurated in 1937. Stymie will be the starting highweight, the fine chestnut son of Equestrian — Stop Watch having been assigned 126 pounds. Polynesian will be next in line under 121 pounds, although the 1945 Preakness winner has indicated that sprint races are more within his range of capabilities. Under the weight arrangements, William L. Branns fine four-year-old filly Gallorette, should prove extremely formidable, racing secretary Shea having assigned the daughter of Challenger n. — Gallette, only 113 pounds. Gallorette rallied innumerable supporters to her cause on Tuesday when she raced one mile and a sixteenth within two-fifths seconds of the Delaware Park track record, to defeat War Trophy, George Case and Megogo. Third Section of Montchannin Today In the meantime, the third section of the Montchannin handicap series, will feature tomorrows well-balanced program. Staged as the feature race on successive Fridays the Montchannin distance has progressed to a mile and a quarter for tomorrows running. Norman Petittes consistent filly Tedious Miss, who won the first race of the series at a mile and a sixteenth and dead-heated with Apheim Stables Stingprice in last Fridays renewal over the mile and an eighth route, heads the good field of 11 named overnight for the third Montchannin running. Tedious Miss once again will engage Stingprice although the latter will be in receipt of five pounds, the two having been assigned 119 and 114 pounds respectively. Tedious Miss made all the pace until Stingprice reached her right at the wire to earn a dead-heat in their last engagement. Rounding out the Montchannin field are J. H. C. Forbes Talasea; Mrs. J. W. Camacs Geronimo; Mrs. C. W. Williams Gullah; Blue Stone Farms Ballast; Mrs. A. H. Ruhls Starback; Miss Ruth McClenaghans Sarawak; Clover -Del Stables Flange; Henry L. Straus March Chick and H. A. Diensts Black Brat. The first race on tomorrows program is expected to attract considerable interest in that all of the starters must be ridden by maiden jockeys, who will not be permitted to carry whips. The race is for three-year-old maidens at six furlongs.
