Royal Prince Retired PIMLICO. Baltimore, Md„ May 8. — Mrs. H. J. Mohrs Royal Prince, who was the favorite of Maryland racing enthusiasts while winning the Eastern Shore and Thomas K. Lynch Memorial Handicaps several seasons back, has been permanently retired and will embark upon a stud career. Royal Prince, a son of Dauber and Princess Teddy, showed his best effort while placing behind George D. Wideners Platter in the 1943 Wal-den Stakes. During his two-year-old campaign, Royal Prince won the Lynch, an all-age event, beating, among others, Mrs. E. D. Jacobs capable Stymie. He went wrong in his early 1944 training and, while he did get back to the races, Royal Prince was never able to attain winning form.
