Gallorette in Breezing Move for Metropolitan Goes Five-Eighths in 1:02 in Prep for Engagement Tomorrow BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 8. — Comparatively few candidates for Saturdays Metropolitan Handicap were out for breezes this bright morning, but W. L. Brann s Gallorette was well in hand while going five furlongs in 1:02, and seems to be finally approaching the form that enabled her to win this mile event last year. Lazy F Ranchs Calvados, the Easton colt who tried to savage Stymie in the Grey Lag at Jamaica last week, had a world of speed when he went a half in :48% over the slow main track. Joe W. Browns Brown Mogul was out on the Aqueduct track this morning, breez ing six furlongs in 1:19, and he is a possible Metropolitan candidate. E. P. Taylors Windfields breezed a half in :54. The others likely to appear in the stake, and most of whom got their final preparation yesterday, are Greentree Stables Coincidence, Mrs. Ethel D. Jacobs Stymie, Harry LaMontagnes Larky Day, La Pomme Studs Vertigo II., C. V. Whitneys Bright Sword and Jeep, and Sunshine Stables Lets Dance and Buzfuz. Pavot, who recently arrived from Maryland, will carry the W. M. Jeffords silks, worn by Johnny Adams, while King Ranchs Bridal Flower is also a possible candidate, along with H. P. Headleys Pellicle. John B. Campbell rated Pavot equal with Stymie at 124 pounds, and the pair are expected to be the starting topweights. Pavot showed a liking for the Belmont track in his early years, having won the Futurity here at two. and the Belmont Stakes the following year.
