CHIMNEY BABE, well handled and never far back, was sent to the outside for the stretch run and, responding to brisk handling, disposed of LUCKY STREET and won going away. LUCKY STREET assumed command early, made the pace to the stretch while engaging RICHWOOD MISS and shook off the latter, but was not good enough for the winner. PEACE BIRD raced wide the entire trip. EVER LOVELY was outrun. RICHWOOD MISS forced the pace to the stretch, swerved to the inside and bumped ROMANCE HILL during the drive, then gave way. ROMANCE HILL, impeded when moving up in the stretch, failed to recover. LADY SALADIN began slowly and raced greenly. SECOND RACE 6 1-2 FURLONGS out of chute. SERGEANT BILL, going in improved form, went to the front early, held a clear lead when settled in the stretch, but was vigorously ridden during the late stages to hold LOANGO. The latter, forwardly placed but on the outside, came willingly when set down for the drive and was getting to the winner at the finish. STAGEY MISS, on the inside throughout, raced evenly without mishap. HAPPY PAT could not better his position when roused for the drive. SWESTEEL had early speed. ERAZAL beaan sluggishly. DALE MAEDIC was outrun. SPIKE J. could not keep up. BELCREST UNSEATED RIDER DURING THE POST PARADE AND RAN OFF, WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED AND ALL WAGERS ON HER WERE REFUNDED. MAVADA, away slowly, was hustled fast during the initial quarter, responded to brisk urging during the stretch run and disposed of TEEGREETZA during the last sixteenth. TEEGREETZA went to the front early, made the pace until near the finish and held on gamely thereafter, but was not good enough for the winner LITTLE STING raced evenly and had no excuse.
