DON OSULLIVAN was not hurried while within striking distance of the leaders, responded to move between horses in the stretch run and was up in the final strides. TATU set the pace from the beginning and weakened right at the end. BEAUZAR, always foi-wardly placed, drifted out slightly while closing willingly. LONGVALLEE, knocked off stride at the start, turned in an exceptionally good effort. JAB ME, far back early, raced very wide while rallying to the stretch, then weakened. RED TORCH tired. MY ANGELA raced prominently placed throughout, wore down IDEAL GIFT to take command in the early stretch, then lasted over SEMPER AVANTI. The latter worked way into contention gradually, was taken up sharply when unable to secure racing room on the inside of IDEAL GIFT in midstretch, then closed with a rush to be getting to the winner. FOREVERMINE closed willingly after being outrun for a half mile. TAGEL raced evenly. BOGGING BOB weakened. WOOFIE quit badly when unable to attain the early lead. AVIATION outsprinted his rivals early and was not seriously threatened while being kept to pressure. CHRISTMASTIDE, taken up when unable to stay with the pace on the inside early, moved boldly leaving the turn, but failed to rally seriously in the stretch run. MARK UP showed good speed throughout and should improve. WINTERBERRY showed good speed, but could not keep up. NOMiC showed nothing. CONNIE MORSE was outrun. Scratched— 224362 Eireann, 113. TROUGH HILL was always prominent while fencing well, attained a commanding lead when BIG SUN lost his rider and won easily. ALLIER was always •ell off the pace, but was best of those finishing. LADY JANICE jumped fairly well, but was never a threat. DAREDINE was through early. BIG SUN raced wide while setting the pace and was tiring badly when he lost his rider. FIRE HIGH fell at the eighth jump. CANFORD fell at the fourth jump. THE HEIR ran off the course approaching the second fence and carried NIGHT LEGEND with him. FIFTH RACE 5-8 MILE. Bother. UNCLE DOC moved through on the inside to challenge, then hung in the final stages. SNOW KING II. raced evenly. BIG BID weakened under pressure. CYPER could not keep up after being a forward factor early. SWEETENA showed nothing. GALAXY ran off a bit less than a quarter mile prior to the race and showed nothing in the running. BOSSINEY set the pace while being rated, gave way in the early stretch, then held on rather well under the whip in the final yards. MISTER CHAT was always a forward factor, but failed to rally. The latter, outrun early and slow to settle into stride, closed with a late rush. RENO weakened after moving on even terms with the leader in the early stretch. DRAW ONE set the pace to the furlong pole and tired. DECOUPAGE rallied nicely along the backstretch and around the final turn, then went to the outside fence. THUNDER closed willingly. SWEET HASH tired. IRENIC quit to a walk. Scratched— 20716 Bari. 110. Overweight— Thunder, 2* pounds; Captain Kidd, 2; Carey Street, 2*.
