Hy-Charlie Flashes Speed In Suffolk Downs Triumph SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 15. — The Kenmore Stables Hy-Charlie, flashing his best speed throughout and holding on with a grand display of courage through the final eighth, was a fairly popular winner of the Northeastern Purse here this afternoon. The lumbering black I son of Hygro — Suntrite arrived at the payoff post a half length ahead of the Cherry Oca Stables White Wine, while C. Lusskys Spirsilla annexed the show award from the erratic Blenweed. Well ridden by jockey Warren E. Snyder of Schnectady, N. Y., Hy-Charlie moved over the six furlongs in 1:11% and was second choice in the wagering, returning .40. Considerable interest was centered on the return to competition of Mrs. T. Haskos fleet stakes-winning mare Windmill, and a good portion of the gathering of 14,392 supported her as the favorite.
