MAYRAM, away slowly, picked up her field gradually while racing between horses, came around the leaders in the stretch, disposed of DELHANNAH and won in handy fashion. EVIDENT, on the outside throughout, came determinedly in the drive, but could not reach the winner. DELHANNAH relinquisned her early lead on the turn, regained command entering the stretch, was bumped lightly by the winner, then tired. BIG POP weakened in the drive. MY SISTER could not get up. SPECIAL PET sprinted into command immediately after the start, set the pace under occasional urging, held on determinedly under punishment and bested PIPLAD. The latter, taken in hand for the first quarter, was sent up between horses on the back-stretch, then drifted wide in the stretch while getting to the winner. FORT SCHUYLER saved ground throughout in an even effort. SUEDE weakened in the drive. BIG BURLY raced on the outside. WATCH CHILLA never threatened. SANAB, never far back, closed steadily after a half-mile and wore down MCCOSH in the drive to be up in the final stride. MCCOSH ducked sharply to the rail at the start, drove into a pocket rounding the first turn, then came out to assume command after a half, opened a clear lead and held on well to the end. HEAD SEA, bothered by MCCOSH at the start, was outrun, but closed fast. FREE DUCHESS weakened in the drive. GALLANT SON could not keep up. FRANCIE had no excuse. ERMELIA quit badly.
