H. Heard, Jr.; bred by Hal Price Headley. WENT TO POST— 5:23. OFF AT 5:24 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; second and third the same. CHILDERIC was taken under steady restraint in the early running, moved up fast rounding the stretch turn and, under pressure, disposed of HOMOGENIZE to draw away. HOMOGENIZE was sent through on the inside and into command, responded strongly, but swerved slightly and held on well. NARCISSUS dropped out of contention after the start, then closed with a rush. SIR LEKNARF was bothered on the stretch turn when FINDER KEEPER bore out. The latter tired badly. GALLALAD and WEJACK raced each other into defeat and quit badly.
