Belmonts Floral Display BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., N. Y., May 29. William Grant, superintendent of the floral department at Belmont Park, estimated that the value of the flowers on display for this meeting is 0,000. This estimate covers the displays in the paddock area adjoining the administration building and near the Turf and Field clubhouse. The most expensive plant in the displays is English boxwood which serves as a hedge for the layouts. English boxwood is a scarce plant in this country and Grant in times past turned down tempting offers for shoots. The floral display comprises every plant that blooms in this area at this time of the year. Grant and his assistants were busy over the week-end replanting beds along the inner rail of the homestretch. This display is for Memorial and Belmont Day.
