COMBUSTION raced forwardly and tired. FIGHTIN CLEVER recovered after being shuffled back early and closed full of run. TEDDYATA stopped badly. SHREWSBURY had brief speed and quit. BLETHER was through early. WITCHBEL INJURED HERSELF IN THE GATE AND WAS ORDERED WITHDRAWN. ALL WAGERS INCLUDING THOSE IN THE DAILY DOUBLE WERE REFUNDED. POST CARD, well hustled while disposing of PUPPET, drew clear entering the stretch and was kept to intermittent pressure. BASHFUL SUN made up no ground on the top one, but closed willingly. BLUE LANTERN lacked a closing rally. BRIGHT COMET closed with good energy. DJINN was sluggish as usual in the early stages and failed to threaten PUPPET saved ground while racing with the pace and faltered. CLEAN BROOM had brief speed. PANGO PANGO was unhurried early was eased back and to the inside in the early stretch and responded to pressure to wear down the leaders KELS LOVE wrested command in the early stretch, but was unable to resist the winner. BRONZE MEDAL raced forwardly from the start and held on well. BURLEY BID threatened from the outside turning for home but lacked a closing rally. THE ORPHAN could not reach prominence. WITHASTAR moved through along the inside to gain command, but weakened in the final stages. WILL I showed speed and was impeded while tiring through the stretch. AIR PATROL raced forwardly and quit. FIGHTING MAD shook off early opposition to draw clear on the turn and continued to draw clear to win easily. MODEL KING showed speed throughout but was no match for the winner. SEAWARD raced well in the late stages and was getting to MODEL KING. BLACK MAJESTY raced forwardly, tired and came back a bit lame. HAT CHECK GIRL was shuffled back leaving the backstretch. HEDGEWOOD, outrun early, was unhurried when COLONEL MIKE circled the field, responded to extreme pressure when able to move through along the inside and outfinished COLONEL MIKE. The latter was allowed to lag early, circled the entire field to assume command, then tired nearing the end. Rustia claimed a foul against the winner for alleged interference rounding the first turn, but no action was taken. OVEREXPOSED established the pace and held on fairly well. HOOSIER BOY moved well to the stretch and faltered. JACKS TOWN was used up pressing the pace. SOME TOWN raced wide early and tired. MIRTHMAKER weakened. SEVENTH RACE 1 1-4 MILES out of chute. FULGURA, closer than usual in the early part, responded well under pressure and wore down HOULGATE. The latter was hard held through the first six furlongs, gained command from the outside nearing the stretch, but was unable to draw clear and gave way in the late stretch. BRIGHT WARRIOR was always prominent and held on gamely. LICTOR moved through to challenge along the backstretch, then flattened out in the final stages. KILLEYBEGS was done early.
