OTHELLO broke to the outside, was quickly straightened away and, under strong handling through the last quarter, wore down SOB STORY, having enough left to stall off THE CREEK. The latter had good speed from the beginning, was between horses much of the way and, while closing boldly in the last eighth, was not quite good enough. SOB STORY broke alertly drew clear a quarter out when she suddenly ducked to the inside nearing the last eighth, then closed gamely when straightened away. TRUMPET KING broke slowly and failed to reach a contending position. CEARA raced with the TOP FLIGHT for a quarter and tired. Scratched— 74746 Broken Crown, 115; 74746 Show Place, 122. WHIRL AWHILE, slow to settle into his best stride, was steadied along while racing between horses to the stretch turn, was eased to outside for the £r»v.?T-???A.er extreme Pressure, wore down TIGER TRAP inside the last eighth and gradually drew out. ™N™M0UNT Pressed the Pace hand* saved ground in the late stages, but could not handle the winner TIGER TRAP raced on the outside while in close attendance to the early pace, wrested command while under strong handling in the early stretch, but had nothing left for the drive. PROP was never a serious factor GALLOPING GUS stumbled leaving the gate, was rushed up on the inside leaving the backstretch where he was steadied while in close quarters momentarily rounding the turn and failed to rally when set down for the drive ORBIT tired from his early efforts. ELLIE S., cleverly rated while racing on the outside, responded to pressure on entering the stretch to wear down LOYAL WORKER inside-the last eighth and guickly drew out under a brisk hand ride. The latter had good speed from the beginning raced a trifle wide and gave way readily when challenged. SOLID TRICK pressed the pace in hand, saved ground throughout, but lacked a closing rally. NIGHT GAME, slow to begin, was put to strong handling in the last quarter and made up some ground. OPEN QUESTION and KITTYHAWK were never a serious menace. BALTIMORE JIM outsprinted his field from the start, saved ground while being cleverly rated and, when put to strong handling through the stretch, held his advantage. IMPUDENCE was never far back, raced on the outside throughout and, under extreme pressure through the last quarter, was getting to the winner. HOBCAW BARONY, taken in hand and steadied in the run down the backstretch, rallied from between horses when roused for his best effort and finished strongest of all. BLUE THANKS closed a big gap after being outrun early. THE BLUES was never a serious factor. IRRIDESCENT was always outrun. DARK DAZZLER quit after a half-mile. MY LUCKY JOE, hard held to the last guarter, was brought to the extreme outside for the drive and, under a strong ride, wore down PESETA nearing the last sixteenth and guickly drew out. PESETA made the pace under good rating, saved ground much of the way and tired under punishment in the late stages.
