Visit Detroit Fair Grounds As Likely Site for Trade Fair PAIR GROUNDS, Detroit, Mich., June 10. — A group of European economists visited the Detroit Fair Grounds track yesterday as part of their tour of possible sites for an International Trade Fair to be held in 1950. They previously visited Washington, Atlantic City, Toronto and Chicago. The visitors were Albert De Smaele, former minister of economics, Belgium; Dr. J. Milius, general manager of the Royal Netherlands International Trade Fair, Amsterdam; Dr. M. Franci, general manager of the Italian International Trade Fair, Milan, and M. Jaoul, secretary of the organization of European Economic Development, Paris. They were shown about the Fair Grounds by J. Lee Barrett of the Detroit Convention and Tourist Bureau and Don C. Weeks of the Michigan Economic Development Commission.
