MICMAC, kept within striking distance of the pace, rallied when set down, caught the leader inside the final sixteenth and was drawing out. TIGHT GRIP opened a clear lead soon after the start, saved ground, but shortened stride. BE PROUD improved position steadily to finish with good energy. FORETHOUGHT raced close to the pace from the start, but lacked a closing rally. LORD QUEUX went evenly. JOHN Q. PUBLIC passed tiring horses. AU PHIL had speed for a half. The others were outrun. WHIM WISE; a forward factor from the beginning, continued on gamely after losing command in the late stretch, then came again under urging and outfinished ROFFIE. The latter, kept within striking distance of the leaders, moved readily when set down and assumed a short lead, then faltered. RATON bullied his way between horses in the late stages to close with . good energy. LITTLE DRAM displayed good speed from the start and established the pace to the final turn, then weakened slightly. VALSIDA tired after forcing the pace. EIGHT BELLS broke slowly and was steered to the outside on the far turn, then closed well in the final furlong. HEATHERS VIEW showed good speed for a half mile. The others were outrun. MEDDLESOME WENT LAME IN THE PADDOCK AND WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED. ALL WAGERS ON MEDDLESOME WERE ORDERED REFUNDED. AMEN broke alertly, was taken back off the pace and steadied to. the final turn, came through on the inside to overtake the leaders, then drew clear under urging, I FORGOT, in close quarters early, closed with a rush on the outside. CENSURED forced the pace for a quarter, assumed command when roused, then faltered. KHARTOUM raced with the forward group throughout in a good effort. ESS JAY ESS passed tiring horses. ACE TROPHY weaved through the field in a late rush. RITE UP, fractious at the start, broke alertly, assumed command at once, set the pace for a half, then flattened out. The latter raced LUCKY CHIPS into submission after three furlongs, drew out slightly, but was unable to shake off the opposition and tired at the end. STRATOJET improved position gradually on the extreme outside. KHAMS HOUR forced the pace and held on gamely. LUCKY CHIPS flattened out after giving way. SCOTCH CUP passed tiring horses. ELLEHCOR broke sluggishly and failed to reach contention. VEILED THREAT flashed brief speed. COTTON BUD WAS KICKED IN THE POST PARADE AND WAS ORDERED SCRATCHED. The latter assumed command leaving the furlong pole, but 2 was unable to shake off the winners bid. MISS GADFLY outran her field to take command after a half mile n and saved ground, but tired in the final stages. CLOVER MISS finished stoutly from off the pace. CAPITAL - . raced in spots. ONCE MORE flattened out badly in the closing stages. HALBERDINE showed nothing. SOPH -TUCK flashed brief speed. SASSY CHICK tired after forcing the pace. COMETS FLASH was carried wide on the first turn and failed to recover. MAXMAR, in hand while close to the pace, rallied when roused, split the leaders near the finish and drew, clear under pressure. LOOKOUT DICE broke alertly, opened a clear lead at once, was placed under steadying restraint for a mile, then continued on gamely when roused. OCTORORA forced the pace while racing on the inside and held * on tenaciously to the end. MULLINGAR had no mishap. SPITEFUL SUE showed nothing. GALLANT G. ARTENA, steadied while kept close to the pace, moved into command when set down and drew clear, but had to be hard ridden to hold BRASSY LIE safe. The latter moved through on the inside to press the leaders on the final turn, then continued on gamely under stout pressure. FARM MAID, never far off the pace, closed stoutly along the inside. MELS CHIC rallied under late pressure and finished with good energy. KHABULA ranged up on the outside nearing the stretch, then tired. LEAVETAKING came from far off the pace under a belated rush. FRENCH LURE tired after forcing the early pace. CORONET STAR set the pace to the far turn, then shortened stride. REWARD ALL had no mishap. KEfJAYR was never prominent. VARODI flattened out badly. SHIFTY SUE weakened in the closing sixteenth. SINGULAR worked his way up on the outside, but lacked a closing rally. BOURBON FLIER forced her way through on the inside to gain an early position, then raced evenly. MUMBO JUMBO was never prominent. HARSAM showed a dull effort. The others were outrun.
