EROSION broke alertly, raced true while showing good speed and, under strong handling through the late stages, wore down COUNTY JUDGE and gradually drew out with ease. ROYAL SON improved his position steadily while racing between horses and was going strongly at the end. REAPING DAY raced on the outside throughout and found his best stride in the last quarter to finish full of run. TUSHS BID raced with the top ones to the final furlong, where he lacked a closing rally. WOODSIDE made up ground fast in the late stages after a slow beginning. POLEMIC, slow to begin, was steadied along in the run down the backstretch, came to the outside rounding the turn and, while improving her position steadily to the last quarter, responded to increased pressure to wear down FLASH OF LIGHT inside the last furlong and had enough left to stall off INDIAN JEWEL. The latter, badly outrun to the stretch, closed boldly from the outside until blocked nearing the final sixteenth, where he was abruptly taken back to the inside and finished boldly. FLASH OF LIGHT was well placed from the beginning, wrested command from the outside in the early stretch, but could not resist the challenge of the top pair. HICKORY LEA saved ground and, while making a determined bid through the last quarter, was not good enough. MOSSY FACE made a strong bid rounding the stretch turn, but had nothing left when the real racing began. MILLINGTON tired from his early efforts.
