RENO UPTART worked his way forward steadily, raced BUCK WEAVER into defeat after entering the stretch and won going away BUCK WEAVER went to the front early, made the pace to the final furlong, then was unable to withstand the winner WATERCLOCK, never far back but racing wide throughout, could not get to the leaders. MISS ALL SWEEP* had no mishap. SALIGNAC, in close quarters leaving the backstretch, was unable to reach serious contention when clear. GEM 0 MIAMI raced wide. LITTLE APPLE was outrun. J0LIE BLARNEY began sluggishly TOMS CANNON never was a serious factor. JACARANDA steadily improved her position to the stretch, was sent to. the outside for the drive and, responding readily when shaken up, easily disposed of CASTANAU to win going away. DIS HASH, never far back, closed determinedly under urging, but was ont good enough for the winner. CASTANAU assumed command early, made the pace to the final furlong, then faltered. SQUINT was outrun. RECORD HIGH could not keep up after showing early speed. BEES DREAM, on the outside, could not keep up. LAREDO never was prominent. OUR MISS, in close quarters at the upper turn, failed to recover. MISS BOB bled and was eased. CHECK ME IN stumbled and lost rider near the three and one-half furlongs pole. OFF AT 3:311 EASTERN STANDARD TIME. Start good from stall gate. Won driving; third the same. VIXEN ROSE raced evenly to the stretch, was sent to the middle of the track for the drive and, responding to brisk urging, was up to finish on equal terms with ALSCHOL. The latter, never far back and well handled, held on determinedly when hard ridden through the stretch and dead-heated with VIXEN ROSE, despite bearing in badly in the last three-sixteenths. PIPER, outrun early, finished strongly under punishment, but could not reach the leaders. BABYS BROKE went to the front early, made the pace to the last eighth, then faltered. PINE GROVE was outrun. IS THERE could not keep up early, was sent to the insidi for the drive, but could not reach the winner. COMPARE forwardly placed from the beginning, failed to stay when set down in the drive. CRIMSON PET, on the outside and racing wide, was never dangerous. OUR EQUITY lacked early speed and went wide entering the stretch KINGBOLT was outrun. STRADA could not keep up. DUCK BERRY, racing wide but evenly to the stretch, continued on the extreme outside during the drive and, responding readily to punishment, wore down the leaders during the last sixteenth. DELHANNAH, a keen factor from the start, -engaged JOSHUA to the final furlong, then outgamed the latter, but could not withstand DUCK BERRY. JOSHUA, on the inside and forwardly placed throughout, held on willingly in a good effort. CATNIP HILL lacked early speed. ON THE WAY began alertly and raced well to the stretch before tiring. ALMENOW, a keen factor from the start, raced PINEBLOOM into defeat after three-eighths, established a clear lead and drew out to win with something left BLUE BADGE, never far back, drifted out entering the stretch, but finished willingly under urging when straight for the drive. PINEBLOOM was sent up fast between horses to take command, made the pace until nearing the stretch, then gave way when challenged by ALMENOW. CRACK REWARD failed to respond when set down in the drive. TOUCH CONTROL was outrun and raced wide. GREGALACH began sluggishly. PERIAIR, fractious at the post, never was a serious contender. COO, far back early, closed with a rush, but could not overtake the leaders. ROYAT went to the front early, was eased back after leaving the backstretch and, taking • command again, held on well to the final furlong before tiring. TIMMY began slowly. BLOCKY, slow to reach his best stride and losing ground from the start, finished gamely in a good effort. LEADING MAN raced well to the stretch, then tired.
