Shepp Voices Innocence; Asks Guilty Party to Come Forward WASHINGTON PARK, Homewood, 111., June 10. — Rollie T. Shepp, veteran trainer who recently was suspended indefinitely by the Blinois Racing Board when his charge, Main Bet, was found to have been drugged by a depressant agency after he showed a poor performance at this track, today issued a plea addressed to the public and dis- tributed to all local newspapers. He claims innocence in having anything to. do with the alleged drugging, and beseeches the "guilty person or persons who are responsible for my misfortune will have the courage to come forward and admit their guilt." In his statement, Shepp reviewed his career as an owner and trainer, pointing out that he has raced horses at various tracks in the United States and Canada, held trainers licenses in New York, Florida, Kentucky, Illinois, Ohio, Louisiana, and never had any rulings against him. "I want the public to know that I am innocent of administering or having any other person administer any kind of a drug to the horse, Main Bet/ Shepp said. » „
