I Commission Rulings Reported to Daily Racing Fork PHOENIX, Ariz., May 5.— A special meeting: of the Arizona Racing Commission was held April 24, 1951, in the offices of the commission, in the matter of the stewards ruling- at Rillito race track, Tucson, Arizona, on Friday, April 20, 1951, which ruling is as follows: "In view of the unusual circumstances and considering the evidences involved in the case, the beard of stewards decided to suspend the purse of the winner, Parkers Trouble, and refer the matter to the Arizona State Racing- Commission for their decision. Owner Parker and trainer Lewis will be allowed to race their stable pending the final decision of the commission. Any monies won prior to this decision by either Parker or Lewis will also be suspended pending the final decision. "After careful consideration by this commission it is hereby ordered that said ruling is revoked and, in that the laboratory report showed the presence of a drug the nature of procaine in the urine samples of the horse Parkers Trouble, winner of the ninth race at Rillito race track on Sunday, April 15, 1951, trainer Greet Lewis is suspended until June 30, 1951, and said horse is disqualified. "In that the said horse, Parkers Trouble, winner of the ninth race on Sunday, April 22, 1951, was allowed by the stewards to be entered and raced by trainer Greet Lewis, who — in the opinion of this commission — was ineligible to enter any horse to be raced until such time as the commission could hear the care so referred to tem by the stewards of the track; it is ordered that said horse be disqualified. "It is further ordered that for failure to suspend trainer Greet Lewis, following a positive reaction to the urine test of the horse, Parkers Trouble, winner of the ninth race, Sunday, April 15, 1951, and for failure to properly enforce the rules and regulations of the commission, and for allowing said trainer to enter and race the horse, Parkers Trouble, prior to a hearing by this commission, state steward Van A. Smelker, Jr., is hereby relieved of his duties, and stewards James P. Ownes and Bernie Roth are suspended for the balance of the current meeting, effective April 24, 1951. "By order of the commission, John A. Thompson, chairman."
