R. Stanley Weber Appointed Oaklawn, Fort Erie Manager JAMAICA, L. I., N. Y., May 5.— John G. Cella, president of the Oaklawn Jockey Club and of the Niagara Racing Association, announced today the appointment of R. Stanley Weber as general manager of both tracks. Oaklawn Park is at Hot Springs, Ark., while the Niagara Association operates Fort Erie which is across the Niagara River at Fort Erie, Ont., from Buffalo, N. Y. Weber succeeds the late Peter J. Holmes who occupied both posts for many years. Weber brings a world of experience into his job for he has served in various capacities on tracks over a long period. Previous to his affiliation with racing he was connected with theatrical enterprises in Buffalo, N. Y. He joined Holmes as assistant manager at Oaklawn Park in 1937. In the interim he had worked at various Canadian, Maryland, New England and Kentucky tracks. During the summer months he was associated with Lou Walger in the •"tote" department on New York tracks.
