Bev Grounded at Sportsmans SPORTSMANS PARK, Cicero, 111., May 5. — The stewards here today issued the following ruling: "Jockey John Bev is hereby suspended for the balance of the meeting seven days with recommendation to the Illinois Racing Board for an additional three days, for rough riding in the sixth race, May 4. Jockey Bevs mount, Fighting Cloud, who finished first, was disqualified and placed third. Jockey Bev has permission to ride engagements for May 7, the effective date of the suspension. This ruling is in accord with rule section 9, paragraph 17, of the rules of racing of Illinois, 1951."
