Rolfe Denies Plan to Trade Evers to Boston for Dropo DETROIT, Mich., June 8 UP .— Red Rolfe said today outfielder Hoot Evers is going to stay with the Detroit Tigers and there has been "no talk" of any trade with the Boston Red Sox. "Hoots not going any place except to Briggs Stadium," Rolfe said in denying a report that Evers was considered for a trade with big Walt Dropo, Red Sox first baseman.- "Weve got two good first basement right now," Rolfe said. "Another one would be just so much excess baggage." Trade talk got started when Evers went into a batting slump after a better than .300 maTk last season. Out for about a week when hit by a foul ball, Evers appeared, in last nights game against the Red- Sox as a pinch- hitter.- - -
