Hospital Reports Williams Condition Remains Critical WASHINGTON, D. C., June 8 UP.— Attendants at Garfield Hospital reported early this evening that featherweight boxer Elijah ."Little Dynamite" Williams was "still in critical condition" from serious head wounds suffered when he was knocked out last night. Doctors said last night the youthful Negro fighter was not expected to live. Williams suffered a cerebral hemorrhage from a fracture at the base of the skull, when he was knocked out in the tenth round by Gene Smith of Washington at Griffith Stadium. Eight fighters, all amateurs, have been killed from ring or training accidents this year.
