JACK FIZZ was prominent from the start and turned in a good effort. JACO was always with the first flight and had no excuse. ROZS BOY faltered slightly in the drive. ETERNAL LIGHT lacked speed. CHERUB weakened in the fete stages. HIGH TEA had no mishap. TROMPETA had early speed and gave way. SWEET PRYME was through early. TOP LUCK was outrun. HIT BACK was never far back while trailing and, saving ground, came around his opposition to make his bid and wore down MY BEBBY in the final stride. The latter came to the rail before entering the turn, drew out when punished and just failed. FAIRYS GEM faltered when hard put for the drive. TRIPOLI forced the pace for a half mile and gave way. QUIET, reserved while saving ground, went up quickly to challenge when called upon, displaced EXTRA and drew out under pressure. GRANDGENT, left flatfooted at the start, swung wide nearing the final fence and just lasted for the place. FURTHERMORE, allowed to settle into stride early, closed with good courage. £XTRA made the pace until the final hedge and tired. UNCLE SAM also tired. REPOSE had no excuse. HEAP BIG CHIEF veered out at the start, continued to. drift wide while vying for the lead and drew clear in the final furlong. MIXTURE was slow to gain best stride and closed willingly for the place. WHITSUNTIDE shortened stride in the late stages after duelling for the lead. COUNT FLAME was knocked back at the start and swerved badly when clear shortly after, then finished resolutely. TOP COMMAND was bumped when COUNT FLAME was forced out at the start. ETERNAL MOON ran well until midstretch and weakened. TRESPASS veered in at the start. QUIET STEP tired. MANDINGO made the pace between calls from the start until nearing the mile post, was reserved on the inside after being headed, swung out when ready for the drive arid, after displacing the leaders a sixteenth mile from the finish, drew away. DART BY, hard held in the opening mile while in close attendance of the pace, went up to threaten boldly when hard put in the stretch and got the nod for the place. FREE STRIDER went into command under restraint, was steadied until leaving the final turn, held on gamely, but was not good enough. FIRST NIGHTER moved up to be a sharp factor leaving the turn, was blocked momentarily and brought to the rail in the stretch and lacked a rally. ISPAHAN was ourun. Scratched— 298193 Lady Jacopo, 106.
