To Import Trot Stallions WELLINGTON, New Zealand, June 8. Reuters. — The Department of Agriculture has decided to permit the importation of a limited number of trotting stallions from the United States, providing that the horses spend at least six months in Britain and finances can be arranged. There has been an embargo on direct importation of horses from the United States and Canada because of the prevalence in those countries of the equine infections, anaemia and encephaloyelitis. The Department considers a six-month domicile of horses in Britain, coupled with the restrictions imposed in Britain on horses imported from the United States, sufficient to permit a limited relaxation of the New Zealand embargo.
