Tigers Beat Athletics, 9-2; Gather Eight Runs in Third DETROIT, Mich., June 8 UP.— The Detroit Tigers scored eight runs in the third inning today on seven hits, a hit batsman, a walk, a sacrifice and an error to down the lowly Philadelphia Atheltics, 9 to 2, before 2,623, one of the smallest crowds of the local season. Paul "Dizzy" Trout had an easy time of it as he coasted to his third victory of the season, scattering nine hits, walking three and striking out three. The Tigers scored six of their runs in the big inning before a man was retired.
