Curtain to Fall on Trot Meet at Aurora Tonight Gallant Song and Knight Cash - In Junior Free-For-AII Pace AURORA DOWNS, Aurora, HI. — Aurora Downs drops the curtain on its sixth season of night harness racing with a stellar nine-race program Saturday night. Highlighting the grand finale will be a Junior Free-for-AU Pace for ,500. The field for the two-trip affair will consist of Chief Strong, Chester Mc, Theodores First, Knight Cash, Margaret Ann Blackstone, Orphan C, Tempered Volo and Gallant Song. Bad weather put a damper on what might have been one of the most successful meetings in the history of the" Fox "Valley Trotting Association. Barring a final "blackout" Aurora Downs will have lost eight nights of racing during its scheduled 42-night meeting. Saturdays feature will find Gallant Song, C. D. Shafers promising pacer, attempting to recover from a disastrous per formance on June 4. The four-year-old Gay Song finished a poor seventh on that date, in a race won by Goose Island, in 2:08. Gallant Song didnt get a break in post positions for the junior free-for-all, drawing eighth both trips. This will force the Iree-legged racer to go all out if he intends to beat such seasoned campaigners as Margaret Ann Blackstone, Tempered Volo, Chester Mc and Knight Cash. Knight Cash, nine-year-old Cold Cash gelding, owned by J. R. Landers, Decatur, HI., is undefeated in two starts this season. On May 18 he toured the half-mile oval in 2:08% and on his first trip out of the gate he won in 2:10% handily. • Chester Mc, E. C. Hartmans steady side-wheeler, is in the midst of a three-race win skein. He won his last start on June 4 in 2:08%. On May 19 he covered the mile distance in 2:08% and on May 15 he breezed in 2:07%. The 10-year-old Hollyrood King gelding may be right rugged in this field. Of the field, three horses havent entered the winners circle this season. They are Chief Strong, Orphan C. and Tempered Volo. Of this trio, Tempered Volo and Chief Strong are given an outside chance of getting a piece of the purse.
